A private network is a private leased line connection between two companies that physically connects their intranet to one another .A leased line is permanent telephone connection between two points. No party outside can have access to the connection. The private network provides secrecy and integrity of messages flowing on it. Largest drawback of private network is cost. Leased lines are expensive. Every pair of companies wanting a private network requires a private line connecting them. Private networks are time consuming.

Hmmm.. simple just a network that is owned by specific organization. examples can be a campus network or intranet
