other than their exquisite literary merits, some books are memorable simply because of the vividness of the main protagonist. Sometimes, their strengths and frailties reaffirm our sense of self and make us more at home with our humanity, warts and all. Larger than life, he or she becomes a hero or a beacon for an existence that adds more dimension to our own. They speak to us into singing what we wish or yearn for, and spur us to soar into our corner of the sky. Also, we are drawn to some characters in a book because we harbor a certain fascination to the ocean of experiences and possibilities that their fictional lives offer. For instance, I wish had the spirit and largeness of appetite for life of Zorba the Greek. Or the skills of Ollivander, the maker of magic wands in "Harry Potter."

The literature character that I want to be me is a very recent character in the world of literature. I want to be Artemis Fowl, a child genius with evil machinations! LOL! But he is really a fun and complex character. A kid trying to fill an adult's shoes in the business world. He is a cold-hearted genius and the only thing in his mind is to increase the Fowler's wealth. If you're not familiar with his story, check this site: http://www.artemisfowl.com/ or better yet, buy his books (author is Eoin Colfer)! You won't regret it and I'm sure you'll enjoy the read greatly =)

Anita Blake from the series by Laurell K Hamilton. Fairies, werewolves and vampires exist in the books. She has powers. She constantly has some action going on. She tests her limits. And she is surrounded by beautiful supernatural creatures. Plus she is a strong woman despite her small size - she kicks butt!

Ok this is going to sound really crazy but Janet Evanovich writes a series about Stephanie Plum, female bounty hunter and just from her books about Stephanie's crazy life and antics and how she turns it into humor makes me laugh so much that I want to be Stephanie Plum.

I would like to be Tyler Durden form "Fight Club". He was free from all the prejudice, he could do what ever he wanted, and he had his little army of "space monkeys".
