Do we feel sleepy while attending the Holy Mass?

For the Christians, specifically the Roman Catholics, why do we feel sleepy at times when we are attending the Holy Mass? This might not be true to all, but I believe that many of us are. Sometimes, I feel sleepy especially in the Homily part especially if I find the Priest some kinda boring with his homily. Forgive me, Lord, but yes. This is a very tough temptation. In other religions, do you also tend to get asleep or feel sleepy while inside your cHurch?

my religion is catholic but my faith is a little shaky right now. i no longer attend mass during sundays. i have plenty of reasons why. but let me share some of my reasons, just the minor reasons because those major reasons will just lead us to a never ending debate... so i no longer go to mass because i'm bored listening to the priest. i feel sleepy too at times. i'm tired of hearing the same things over and over again. i'm also tired doing the whole ritual thing, singing, kneeling, communion and stuff like that. but of course as i have said there are major reasons that lead why i got tired of going to mass... :)

I feel the same way too. I have faith in God and I know Holy Mass is the Highest form of prayer in CAtholic teachings. But sometimes, the ritual could fed me up. You're right, the ritual has been a routine already that sometimes, we don't get to understand the true meaning already. In most cases, I feel sleepy when I don't like the Priest or if the Priest is too formal in the way he delivers the homily and a lot more. :)

This is why I attend a church that is relevant to my life. A church that feeds me what I need. I give to the church and volunteer but we need to find church's that are exciting to you. Just because your family is Catholic does not mean you have to be. Venture out and find a church that interests YOU.

I remember I think I have read one of your discussions being into or joining another church. I'm not against it. It's definitely a choice on which church can make you happy or which one can you be able to get closer to God. Thanks for the response :)

lpipe do you not know that the Mass is not about entertainment to us? That only in the Catholic Mass do you have Christ truly present in Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity? you would give up Adoring Christ in the Most August Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist? what other food can another church feed you that is better than True Christ Himself...

I admit, yes. especially when the officiating father is boring.I mean, who doesn't know how to make the holy mass lively as possible. There are certain priests who can make people laugh or smile while hearing the mass.

I tend to get sleepy when the ceiling fans are not on. I think having so many persons packed into a small enclosed area (everyone close together) the air gets too still and stagnant and that puts me to sleepiness. If the fan is on, no problems.
