WHo here has taken a year or a few months out to go travelling. What places did you stay? What were the best and worse experiences you had? I would love one day cash permitting jsut to go wandering and see the world. A few friends have as well as my brother and is aw the god the experience did them and heard of the adventures they had. Share your facourite memory of wanderings afar and you worst experience. Most of all how do you find the time and money to do it?
Also if you like me have a little wanderlust but have never taken the plunge where would you go and what would you most like to see?

I am in the same boat as you. I have such a longing to travel, yet I don't yet have the means to do so. I wanted to study abroad in high school but couldn't afford it. Now I am in college and want to study abroad, and it is more affordable to me now because of financial aid, but it is still very expensive. I am hoping that after I graduate I can work as an au pair (nanny) in Greece or Italy for a year or two, and maybe do some other work/volunteer abroad programs. Many of these things actually pay you to be there, so all you have to buy is a plane ticket, they will give you room and board at least, and some will even pay you a small stipend. The website that I have been using to find opportunities is www.jobsabroad.com
They have some really good resources if you want to travel but don't have a lot of money.
