Do you use store bags for the smaller trash cans in your house?

I have alot of store bags that are being collected under my kitchen sink.So I usaully now throw them out since I have so many saved.I use the store trash bags usually for the smaller trash cans ,like in the bathroom and bedrooms. Some of the store bags are actually as strong as a trash bag.LIke Targets trash bags, they are pretty strong as well as I use Wal-Mart bags.I use the scented trash bags for the diaper genie and they are only 1.00 .I still use the big black trash bags to put all the trash in for trash day.And I use the white trash bags for my trash can in the kitchen. But I figured if they can be recycled then I can use them in the samller trash cans.I know probably some people use regular but I guess I try to save money and use the store bags for the smaller trash cans.

I don't think I've ever spent a dime on trash bags for my smaller trash cans in the house. I use the white ones for the kitchen but the bath and bedrooms I use plastic grocey bags all the time.

Hi there! Here in the Philippines almost all households use store/grocery bags as trash bags as we get store bags for free whereas trash bags here are costly. I also do have a lot of store bags myself and my aunt even taught me how to fold them neatly and sort them in jars according to sizes. My grandmother does that too. We usually use just small trash cans since the garbage trucks collect them on a daily basis. Hopefully, the our government would be as keen to recycling as yours.

i do exactly what you do, lol! i use the smaller store bags to use for my small waste bin in my bathroom also i have one in my living room to put crisp packets in or whatever and the main one is in my kitchen! i have them all sorted out at at the end of each day i throw them all into the main rubbish bag and dump it and then start all over again with clean bags. that way it's easier than running to the kitchen everytime i pick up any bit of rubbish! =)

One of the easiest way to store trash bags is in a clean dry milk carton. The gallon size.

I use store bags for all but our kitchen trash can. We have to take our trash out to the dumpsters behind the apartment building, and so everyone tends to use whatever fits into their garbage cans and them tie them up and throw them into the dumpster. We have recycling cans for Cardboard and Paper, and it's horrible to see people not using them as they're intended to be used. We make a point of using them as they're supposed to be used, and I know my partner has reported a couple of tenants that he's seen using them for normal garbage at the building office.

I knew some ladies that used to make bags out of the bags! Like handbags, and they are pretty cool!! I use them for the bathrooms and office trash, but use the larger store bought ones in the kitchen also. I use them if I send anything that is breakable to wrap it up a million times, it's good padding! I love to recycle as much as possible!

Your not alone, because I also have tons of wal-mart bags saved. I use them for the small trash cans as well. I think it's a great idea for everyone to do this because we need more people in the world recycling. Just think if everyone just recycled bags for small trash cans how much that would help the world. I'm also all about saving money, so why not save a few bucks and reuse little bags.

I am with you on that one.I notice I do not have to buy as much trash bags since I only use the white bags for the kitchen (The glade brand) and I use the scented 1.00 trash bags for the diaper genie(which kind of helps mask the odor of the diapers)LOL.I use the store bags for the smaller trash cans.Works perfectly. The big black ones I use to put all of the trash into one bag as much as I can fill for the garbage truck to pick up.

I do use them for my small trash cans in the house and they work great. Before we bought flushable litter, I would use them as garbage bags for the cat litter and to line the litter box. If I ever get too many, I just take them to Wal-Mart or Winn Dixie and put them in the recycling box.

Here in Uruguay, most people use store bags for trash. One exception is my mother, that buys black bags. The use of them is so extended that in Montevideo, the capital city, the City Government has made an agreement with supermarkets. Since a few weeks ago, they put what you buy in white bags, as they did before, but also in orange bags. The latter will be used for paper, plastic, glass and tin, while the white ones will be used for the other kind of trash (food, leaves, etc.)

In Australia it is only a new thing (past couple of years) to have material bags for groceries etc but they will give you plastic ones if you forget(like I often do) to take your bags with you. I always use the plastic grocery bags for trash tin liners. I think this is a great way to recycle....

We do. Our subdivision is under garbage segregation and this is one of the things that we do.

We only save some of them. We shop often, and for a lot of stuff usually, as there are 6 of us in this household, so we have a lot of bags. We use them for the tiny trashcans in the bathrooms, and sometimes the one in the living room and the two in our bedroom. It makes sense to use them, as they are just the right size for that kind of thing.

I have been using the plastic bags for garbage for years. In fact I even have 3 small plastic trash cans that are made just for these bags. They have handles on the sides for the bag handles to fit over so the bag stays open. I hate it when the store is out of plastic and I have to get paper bags. Where I live, there is always the chance of bug(roaches) eggs being in the paper bags. So I make sure to get them out of the house as soon as they are emptied. The last time I moved, I ran out of boxes the last day I was packing, so I just started throwing anything that would fit in the plastic bags. I have plastic bags full of plastic bags. LOL I must have thousands of them. I will never run out, Im sure. They are also great for taking when you go swimming. You can put the wet towels and stuff in them and they don't make a mess. And when my sons spend the night out, they always fill up bags with all the games, movies and stuff they take with them. Sometimes, they even take clean clothes!

I use them in our bathrooms because the trash cans are so little in there (perfect size). I can't stabnd throwing them away because you get so many when you go shopping!! But the grocery stores here have a place to put youtr trash bags and they recycle them, so I do that sometimes.

Count me in, Carrie26. I do use our store bags for our trashes. We don't buy those big black bags because we have so many store bags placed below the sink in our kitchen. The store bags we have are not only used for trashes. We also use them to pack on something especially if we ran out or paper bags to put on. :)

I believe in recycling, so yes, I use them in my bathroom trash cans, and I also use one in my car for trash. I save them, they do come in handy for all kinds of things. I even have wrapped Christmas ornaments in them.
