For me, a lot of it had to do with just going with the flow. I went to college for radio/tv production, because I didn't know what I wanted to do and it sounded like fun. After graduation, I moved in with DH and that field just wouldn't have worked out with our situation. I got a job in retail for a couple years to make ends meet. I had friends there who applied at a banking call center. It seemed better than retail, so I applied to. They saw my resume and offered me a different job doing administrative work. I did that for 8 years until they let me go. I've been a SAHM, looking for another real job since then. But I haven't had much luck finding one, so I'm going to be opening a home daycare. I love being home with my son, and this seems like it will be perfect for us. Not at all what I'd planned on, but things will work out just fine.

That's kinda like me. At school I didn't know what I wanted to do, but I liked accounting and economics so I chose to do business in college, now I'm fairly sure my future lies in the accounting/finance sector, but I'm still now 100% sure. These days there are so many possibilities it can be hard to choose.
If you liked any subjects in school you should explore careers in those areas.
Good luck..:)

Take an interest test at your local night school or college and speak to a Vocational Counselor,or School Counselor. If this is not possible in your Country or State then sit down and write everything you are interested in; do research on different occupations and then you will have a pretty good idea of what you would like to persue. Also talk to people that are involved in the occupations that interest you; ask them questions and find out the job duties, rate of pay and job openings in that specific occupation.

first and foremost, the job you choose now should be to your interest. maybe there are jobs more than two that interest you. then, make a comparison between these jobs, this means the salary, cause everyone want to earn a lot. however, if you don't care about money, just choose one that interest you most.
