Is hockey even considered a sports in the USA??

I am Canadian and yes, I love Hockey... I keep hearing all kinds of statements about how much hockey is suffering right now in the states and was wondering what about the sport is not doing it for you. I mean it is fast, very physical with plenty of hard hits and has plenty of spectacular shots, passes, saves and goals... I don't watch american football because I don't really have a team to cheer for, but there are tons of hockey teams in the US, so that can't be the problem... So what is it?

i live in the states and hockey is very popular here in wisconsin i think its awsome. i love everything about it the hits the penaltys the fights. it great

I enjoy hockey. I especially like the Olympic-style hockey with wider rinks and thus less hitting & more speed. Many Americans don't like it because of the lack of scoring (same reason we're not nuts about soccer. Give us a 35-32 hockey game and we'll be all over it!
