taking care of a baby is difficult but you should enjoy it. you'll only have that once in a lifetime chance to cuddle them and snuggle them so don't worry too much. being sick is a natural process. it will make your baby stringer cause they will be able to develop antibodies for that disease and that would make them have a stronger immune system when they face that same disease in the future. it's not bad to protect your babies from dirt but a little won't hurt them. infact, it would help their immune system to get used to such things. anyway what i can say to you are
-always be calm and keep your cool when they get sick. so you can think clearly.
-provide a clean environment and food to prevent disease causing factors.
-regular visits to your physician
-up-to-date vaccinations
-enjoy your time with them
-feed them well and nutrituously. this is not a time for diet
-let them explore the environment but watch what they are putting in their mouth
-wash your hands when you come in contact with them
there...hope these could help you. =)

just forgot a few things
-when they're sick keep them warm
-follow the doctor's order for any meds. even if they get well continue giving the meds as prescribed until the course of treatment is complete.
-when they are sick give them their favorite foods so that they will be encouraged to eat
-just be patient
-when they get sick it is better to consult a doctor cause a simple fever maybe a sign of a severe infection.

there is not much you can do about his sickness, but you can hold him close to you when he cries, they like that, or give him some medication special for babies!
if he is not crying put him to bed with a warm water filled bottle( the special ones for babies but i don't know the right name for it)my daughters liked that a lot!

First off, have you taken him to a doctors yet? If not, I would do so and they can give you advice as well. If you already took him in, then all you can really do now is just keep giving him his medication as suppose to and lots of love and comfort. Right now he is so little and he doesn't know why he feels this way and just needs support and lots of attention. Right now is the time to just hold him as much as you can. When he is sleeping, lay him down and let him sleep as much as he can. And depending on what kind of sickness he has, if he has a cold, I would make sure you watch him close and keep an eye on his breathing. If you have to hold him more then usual, then so be it. Hold him and comfort him all day if you have to. He will soon be well with prober care. Also, sometimes a nice warm bath will relax a baby when sick. But the best thing to do is just be patient and try to understand that you need to just let this run it's course.
So I know this discussion was made a month ago, so I guess the next time he gets sick you can use the advice? :)

I always had a supply of baby paracetamol (liquid) because like us if they are running a fever you need to get it down, and if they have a head ache or pain they cant exactly shout out the words, other than that keep up the fluids and cuddles and keep them warm but not hot. If they go off their food for a few days(2-3) dont panic as long as they are still drinking lots of fluids and peeing heaps. Sometimes people make the mistake of thinking that because old wifes tales say 'when you have a cold/flu rug up to sweat it out' this may be ok for adults but it is not good for babies. All the best
