Do you close the toilet seat to flush?

I do. I hear when you don't, bacteria gets thrown all over. I do not know the exact measurements, but it can go far. Some people get it on their toothbrushes! That is nasty. Whenever my husband forgets, which is once in a very long while, I get grossed out.
