You are the second person that I have ever come across that has said they hated I Love Lucy. My auntie, by marriage, calls Lucy a buffoon. To me, she was a comical genius.
In fact, just yesterday I found an incredible offer on ebay and I could not pass it up. The entire I Love Lucy series $25.95, including shipping and handling. This was a dream come true purchase.
On Amazon.com, the entire series goes for $239.00. I can not wait to be able to sit back and enjoy the best comedian of all time, anytime I want to. There is never a time that this show is out of syndication.

"Are you un-poopular? Do you pop out at parties?"....I still laugh just thinkig about that episode. Vitavetavegamin. Tha one is my favorite. She was such a glorious comedic actress. Never hesitated to poke fun at herself. I still watch the reruns on tv late at night.
No one can truly compare to her, but Debra Messing, when she was on Will and Grace did a good job of poking fun at herself and some slapstick.

I still smile as Lucy and Ethal are working the chocolate factory or the scen of Lucy squashing grapes!!I enjoyed watching, all of her shows(Here's Lucy,The Lucy Show,I Love Lucy and a short-lived series with her and Gale Gordon in the 70's that lasted only a few episodes).Today's shows are much more explicit than the shows of yesteryear. They seem to rely almost on the shock factor and pushing the envelope.

Lucille Ball was a fantastic actress. One of my favorite movies with her is "Yours, Mine and Ours". She plaed a widow with 8 children who meets a widower with 10 children. I'm sure you can imagine the rest. My favorite scene with her in the I love Lucy show was the Vitamine syrup that made her drunk. That was a great scene and the one that made sure from now on they only use colored water in tv/movies, yes she really was drunk from it.

I never really watched Lucille Ball. It was a little before my time nd wasn't on much when I was growing up, but I thought she was so funny. The episode I like the best of the ones that I saw was the one where she was in that big vat stomping grapes.

I Love Lucy is classic comedy. I don't know if any comedy can compete with it because it was a different style of comedy than what you see today. My favorite Lucy show was the 'Vitavegavitamin' commercial she was trying to do and it contain something that was making her drunk.

Watching anything with Lucille Ball made me nervous. You just knew she would get into trouble. I also read her atuobiography - she was saucy!
My favorite work of Lucille Ball was her 1968 movie, Yours, Mine, and Ours. They recently made a remake of the movie, but it does not hold a candle to the original.

I have two Licy memeories but they aren't from the t.V. show. They are both from movies. My first is her last scene in Stage Door. Her character is leaving to get married and Katherine ans Ginger Rogers are carring her out the door. My seconf is in Follow The Fleet. Lucy helps Harriet from Ozzie and Harriet show become more attractive so she can impress a sailor.

I love I Love Lucy...lol and I force my husband to watch the reruns with me. I have my very own Ricky Ricardo straight from Cuba and he is so much like him it's funny. He doesn't see it though... My favorite episode is when she thinks she is going to be the star of an Italian movie and goes to a vineyard to learn to stomp grapes for "acting ability" turns out she is completely stained, the director was making a picture with the word grapes not about grapes and he decides to use Ethel instead !! I don't think today's comedy can hold a candle to sitcoms even from as late as the 80's. I have lost interest in all sitcoms really. It's sad.

Well, I see that this is 5 years old but I still want to comment on it. Today happens to be Lucy's 100th birthday and what a wonderful day for the world of comedy! A true inspiration and star was born!
My favorite episodes are the candy factory and the Vitameatavegimin commercial. True acting at it's best!! She was and will always be the queen of comedy!
As far as movies, "Yours, Mine, and Ours" along with "The Long Trailer" are two of my favorites with her!

There is not or has there ever been any one in the same class as Lucy! She was fantastic and has so many classic moments. My favorites from the show are: the candy factory, the grape smashing episode, the Vitameatavegimin commercial, the birth of little Ricky, and several others. I loved her in Yours,Mine and Ours as the mom to so many kids! She was so good at that!!
I still watch her and will as long as I can. I have several videos and I am keeping them up so that I can watch her if they ever take her off tv.

I am sure to be the odd ball here, but I always enjoyed the show where her children were in it..I think because I had a crush on Desi Jr and I loved her daughters long hair..

I am a huge lucy fan and have the complete series on VHS and DVD! I love the Lucy/Desi Comedy hour - 13 of them. But my most favorite movie is Long Long Trailer - with Lucy and Desi - playing tacy and nicky and living in a 40 ft travel trailer! I lived in a 35 ftr so I knw the feeling, but they took their lucy/ricky attitudes and put that in these characters and it is the best movie ever made!
Yours Mine and Ours is also really good - that's with henry fonda.

Carol Burnett was a very close second runner up to Lucille Ball. But other than that, there has NEVER been any comedian even come close to Lucille Ball - She was the best.
And todays sitcoms - trash is the closest thing in comparison. Just isn't anything anymore. The 1990's were the end of the best comedy sitcoms.

My favorite of Lucy's perfomances, would have to be the movie "The Long, Long Trailer." At least I think that is its name. Lucy and Desi played newlyweds on their honeymoon in a really long trailer. I will never forget the phrase "Trailer brakes first, trailer brakes first!!" It was such a funny movie and I don't think she did anything better. As for today's comedies, I know I'm from an older generation, but all the risque shows we have today just do not appeal to me. However, it appears to be what the public wants to see. Lucy can't be beat.
