Do you check your paycheck for mistakes?

Hi there. I work part-time, so I am paid by the hour, rather than salary. The number of hours I work from week to week vary, so the amount of my paycheck also varies considerably. One week, a friend of mine warned me that I should always check my paycheck to see that I was paid for the correct number of hours. She had been shorted by over $50! So, I started paying attention to my paycheck and within the first three pay periods, I found that two of my checks were inaccurate. Once I was shorted $70 due to a clerical error and the second time I was shorted about $40 due to a computer error. Because my hours vary so much from week to week, I probably wouldn't have caught the mistake if I hadn't been paying special attention. I realize that many of your paychecks are probably the same every time, so this would be unnecessary, but I just wanted to warn those of you who work part-time or irregular hours. People make mistakes all the time and computers have their errors as well, so you shouldn't rely on them to do things correctly all the time.
