Public Transport or Private Transport ?

"It is good to have an own vehicle, but if everybody thinks in this manner the pollution level will raise up in this world, therefore it is good to use Public Transport"
I have read this is in some survey. So you agree with this argument ? I partially agree with it -.-

i prefer private transportation, coz its much faster and you dont need spare or extra time, public transportation is a time consuming and sometimes you get late if some traffic problem occurs.

really? I think that survey is funny. It is based on quantity of vehicles. We know that transportation cause large portion of air pollution. I think the type of fuel used should be on consideration.
