IRC is a good way to chat. there are thousands of IRC servers out there. Some are regional, some are interest based some are just there. To get an irc client go to www.mirc.com I'd say mIRC is the best software for using IRC there is. Its pretty user friendly. Just read the instructions and you'll be able to find all sorts of chat in no time.

I generally chat on rediff .If I am looking for international friends I prefer Yahoo as we can find unlimited friends to chat with on yahoo . If looking for regional or domestic friends I prefer rediff . I think they are the best chat messangers available .I tried ICQ but nobody responds on ICQ so I felt like little dumbo requesting everybody to have a chat.
