Does anyone on here like 'Little House on the Prairie?'

I love this show and am lucky enough to get to watch the reruns every morning. Sure, there are 2 or 3 episodes I don't care for, but other than those, the show is awesome. I never watched it as a kid as my sister convinced me then that it was a "dumb show", but once I met my husband he convinced me to watch and I'm so glad he did, or else I missed out on a great show. The stories always make me feel good, even when they make me feel sad. Is that really possible? LOL Do you like the show as much as I do? Or am I all alone in this?

I think it is an excellent show. Maybe if there was more stuff like that on television teachers wouldn't have to be worried about getting shot in class. I always have the television on in the background. Usually somebody screaming the sky is falling or a volcano is gonna cause a tsunami & block the sun & we are all gonna die, non-fiction type shows but sometimes I turn it on tv land. I don't care for military shows. I don't care who they killed or why or with what, etc... so they send me to tv land. I was watching it one day & didn't realize how good the show was. I was only a child when it was on air so I wasn't old enough to judge the quality. About a week later, I had it on tvland while the show was on and my girlfriend said this is a really good show. LOL. If you met me you would never think that I would like it. But I like good stuff. Quality. The same for music. If it is crap & they didn't put anything into it... I am gonna say they have a crappy product. I like all kinds of music & I hate all kinds of music. Normally a #1 hit would be a good song if it were punk, thrash, rap or country. A good song is a good song.

'Little House on the Prairie' is one of my favorite shows. It's on here for 2 hours every weekday morning and although I've seen most of the shows several times I still watch it. Good clean family values and morals to learn and remember.

maybe you could make a visit to missouri, both mansfield and walnut grove are primary to where the stories took place.

That would be fun, I didn't realize they were actual towns. I've read the books and watched the show for years and years and years.

I love this show. I have the series of movies and have watched everyone of them once or twice. I can watch reruns on tv too over and over. Don't know what my favorite is but can't miss them if on. Sure wish I had a channel on tv could watch more of them maybe some day.

I liked the show except for the parts where the storyline deviated from the books. There was a lot of really dramatic religious stuff in the series that didn't come out of the books; and as much as I am a Micheal Landon fan, I don't think he should have gone ahead with so many big, dramatic miracles. It just put those episodes way over the top and outside of the realm of believability, and pretty much the entire reason peoople started liking the show was that these were characters to whom they could relate.

When my wife has always loved "Little House on the Prairie" and we used to watch it on TV Land quite regularly. Then we got a DVD player and began buying the series in sets. My wife likes the later episodes more than the earlier ones, so we started with Season 7 and later got Seaons 8 and 9 and the final season which has the last three TV movies. Since then we bought Seasons 4, 5, and 6. Now all we have left is the first three seasons. Last night we watched the final episode, "The Last Farewell," which concludes the series and in doing so brings an end to Walnut Grove. A really nice feature about the DVD sets of the series is the extras, including interviews with actors and at least two commentaries for a couple of the episodes. Another treat with the DVD sets is that they include some episodes that to my knowledge are never shown as reruns on TV. My wife says it is probably because those episodes were 90 minute specials so won't fit into the 60 minute time slots they use for the reruns. Yes, there are others out here who like "Little House." My wife loves the show and I have to admit I enjoy watching it with her.

Boy, I'm jealous! I wish I had some of the series! I enjoyed almost every episode, even the earlier ones, so I'd be happy with any series set I got, but I would love to have them all! And I never got to see The Last Farewell when I was watching the reruns on TV, so I really want to see this one. If you don't mind my asking, where did you get your sets from, or should I say who did you go through? My husband said that we can get a series or 2 to start us off on collecting them, but I would like to find the best place to go through.

Hmm, I think I'd rather spend the extra money to get a brand new DVD set. I'd hate to buy it used just to find out it has scratches on it! Thanks for the info. I'll check out amazon soon. :)

Each set of DVDs of "Little House on the Prairie" that we have came from Amazon, which we find is good place to buy from. Another place to consider might be eBay. We've only bought new sets but at Amazon and eBay you might be able to get some used sets. I don't think I'd ever buy a video tape that was used, but might take a chance with a DVD. (of course a scratched DVD would be a problem) Hope you get to have your very own DVDs of "little House."

Yep. When I found out about the books I just had to get them all, though I didn't get them all at once! LOL Unfortunately some of the books were partially destroyed by my in-laws dog when she was a pup. So some of the pages are missing. Damn dog. LOL Oh well, that's what I get for lending the books out, and to a family member none the less.

The stories always make me feel. They are based on a true life story. It shows how close nit families were and how they all tried to help each other out. Sometimes it was hard but they worked through the problems instead of hiding their heads. I really like this show and think it is still special today and like to watch it. Reruns or not.

My whole family loves this show. They couldn't have picked a better person to play Mrs Olson, that part was just for her, ha ha.

Really? I didn't realize so many people liked the show. Well, up until now, that is. :) I didn't read the books until about 10 years ago, but I still enjoyed them very much.

I do love the show; it is full of proper values that have been mostly lost today. My daughter discovered it through a neighbor and fell in love with it. I so miss special programming such as this. I suppose all things pass away in their own due time. I'm glad to meet another fan.

Melissa Sue Anderson was one of my favorites on the show as she was such a convincing actress. She even had me in tears during those sad scenes. LOL Yes she has. You can see the things she has done at the link below: http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0000757/

This is funny. This show brings back memories as a kid but I actually never watched the show. I remember coming home from school and watching The Flinstones and right after it was Little House on the Prairie (which then meant turn the TV off :o). I never disliked the show, but it just wasn't something I was interested in watching.

You should try watching catching a show or two if it is available to you. That is, if you are into shows that make you feel good. Otherwise you may not like it. :P

Girl you are not alone, this is my favorite t.v show ever. I love everything about this show, people use to make fun of me, but I don't care, nothing or no one would ever stop me from loving little house, I cry so much watching it, laugh, charles is the father I would have loved to have, what an amazing man he was, Oh man, I can't believe you asked this question little house on the prairie, I wish I could have visit that set, wouldn't that be nice, too bad they didn't make more episodes, did you read the book, its different like most books compared to the show itself, but in this case I like the show more. I find it funny your husband have you watching the show, you have a good man there, any man that loves little house is o.k in my book. wow little house, I watched an episode today the one where laura stole the music box, I fell asleep on it which sucked, I watched every episode at lease 100 times if not more, and every time I watch that show it feels like the first time, when my family watch it with me, they always look at me cause they know I will cry lol, yep you are definitely someone I want to be friends with, what a wonderful post, thank you so much for posting this,

Yep, I even read the books. LOL I have (or had) the entire series of books by Laura Ingalls Wilder as well as some of the books about her daughter Rose, her mother Caroline, and her grandma Martha. They were definitely not like the show, but still very good in their own way, especially the ones about Laura herself. I know what you mean. I can watch that show over and over again and it's like I'm watching it for the very first time. It is truly a timeless classic.

Yes, I used to watch Highway to Heaven when I was growing up. My mom's the one that got me into that show as she used to watch it all the time. Though like you, I like Little House more. There's just something about it. I want to order the Little House DVD's since it's not aired anymore where I live. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe one day... And yes, I already knew about Mr. Edwards (Victor French). Looks like both he and Michael Landon are angels now. Ironic, isn't it?
