how many of us commit this same old mistake?...

water - it seems, a glass of water is not so good after your meal.

my brothers always drink so much water after taking their meal. it's ok to drink while having the meal but in small amounts just to satisfy dry swallowing. It is said, and i so believe, that taking large amount of water right after the meal is actually a big fault. Yes, it gives you the feeling of being full, but that's just it. drinking large amount, ussualy water, after meal will prevent your body from taking the supplements--vitamins and minerals from the food. This ussualy result to malnutrition. So it is advised to drink water, preferrably a glass before meal, then after an hour of meal or just when your stomach say that the foods had gone down. it is never a good body image having no nutrition in your body. --a health reminder from your fellow mylotter, Good Day!

I used to do the same thing when I was over weight and unhealthy. Now that I have lost a lot of weight I don't have to drink so much with my meals or after them. I was extremly thirsty when I would eat being over weight. I don't really know why eiather. I lost 97 pounds and now I don't have to drink like that. It is very confusing to me, I do feel better now that I don't have to drink so much with my meals. I don't have the extra bloat feeling nor do I have the extra hunger desire to eat and eat and eat through the day.

Being extremely thirsty *ALL THE TIME* with no good reason for it is usually either a sign of Diabetes or PCOS. Diabetes has multiple types. For SOME types of diabetes, losing weight will make the diabetes "disappear", including all the symptoms - such as being excessively thirsty. Now, mind you, if you were excessively thirsty only at mealtime, then you were just thirsty as a result of the food - either you were eating stuff that was dry or your mind was playing games with you. Likewise, if you are always getting thirsty at the same time of day, that's probably psychological. Also, if you had a good reason to be thirsty such as if you did lots of physical work outside in the hot sun, that's a very real thirst that you need to slake without second-guessing it, to avoid dehydration. But if you can find no rhyme or reason, just a constant serious thirst, you should wonder if you have diabetes, or PCOS.... Keep smiling!

Thanks, I never knew that. Usually after eating I'm not thirsty but I will remember if I do.

water - We need water to carry away unwanted substances but I have to prevent ourselves from drinking too much of it after each meal.
A very useful reminder. This makes me consider not to drink too much water after eating. I hear some specialists in the medical field say that we should drink more than 8 glasses of water every day because we need water to carry away unwanted substances in the kidneys. Once these substances accumulate, "kidney stones" may take shape. That may cause problems to our health.
