Great idea dude. Seeing that it's VMY 2007, a little publicity won't hurt. Right, now everyone. Kuching has lots to offer tourists. It's a historical place dotted with many historical buildings, legacy of the White Rajah who ruled Sarawak for about 100 years. Take the Sarawak Museum for example - it used to be an administration building. Then there's the famous Fort Margherita. Kuching is a shopping paradise too. The Riverside Golden Triangle is an area with lots of shopping avenues. Yet, one could find these kinds of shops the most - souvenirs shop. They're everywhere! Parkson Grand, Sarawak Plaze, Tun Jugah.. These are only a few of the major shopping areas. How about food? Fortunately, Kuching is home to a variety of mouth-watering local dishes, like the famous Sarawak laksa. This is a must for whoever that gets the chance to visit Sarawak.

I have been to Kuching and the waterfront is very beautiful. I also loved the Sarawak laksa with the slightly sourly taste.

Oh this is very interesting topic to discuss. well quite enlightening to me. Malaysia is cruising well to grab the tourist all around the Globe. As my spouse is conducting research on the Tourism In West Coast Region of Sabah. She is very determined to promote the backpacker tourism in Malaysia. So i have some info from her as i got along the time. Major problem is the statistical data is very scarce on tourist population. there is no proper published work on the Tourist in Malaysia. Mostly there is no proper records to know about the coming tourist population. Tourism Board's and Tourism ministry must play active role to promote the tourism. Most of the tourists need the more info prior coming to Malaysia, so need to have more exposure. Accommodation status for the tourist need to integrated according to the international status..I will be posting again with more info.

There are also lacking in brochures on tourist destinations like spa centers, reflexology centers, crafts centers, maps in different languages, shopping centers, etc. Is this because the airport management dont allow placement of such easily and plentily at the airports?
