Do you think that language impacts society in the way that makes it what it is or do you think that society shapes the language that we are using now?

There are some kind of interrelation between two sides. But I think our society has more impact on our language as it is to express what is happening to our society

I think that goes both ways. I think language forms and impact society. For instance using words that has a racist meaning, or put down groups of people because of religion, culture etc, will have a negative impact upon how these groups of people are viewed. They might feel put down and might act accordingly. On the other hand the changes in society forms and influence the language. For instance there has been a great developement within computers, cameras, and other technologies. New inventions leads to new words. Language developes and adapts to society every day
