The Solo city is one from the only two cities in Indonesia that has a very strong Javanese culture background, beside Yogyakarta.
Solo is famous from one the big river that lies across the area, it called Bengawan Solo, that means 'The River of Solo', the name is so famous untill everybody that come to Solo, want to see and check the place personally.
Besides of the River, you might also ever heard about the famous dish that come from Solo, which is called by 'Timlo Solo' - Its actually a chicken soup that served with egg and fried sausage - it's very delicious, just by thinking of it already bring my mouth watery ...

Hi wong_jowo, i hold Javanese culture in high regard. Even though i did not experienced it first hand, my grandmother used to tell me stories about her childhood (she was from Jatim). I've not been to SOLO but i am sure that it is as beautiful as what the song describes it to be. I grow up with that song and when i was young, only Kartina Dahari would sing that song in Singapore.
Timlo Solo sounds interesting. I've not heard of it. What is the sausage made of? Does make me hungry too! All the best! - Lyn

Good to hear ur comment here, surprisingly you've never been to Solo before, cos there's a direct flight from Spore to Solo thrice a week! Come here and I'll show u around, especially'll treat you the timlo solo (it's a soup!)

Wow! That sounds like an open invitation for my family and i to go to SOLO. Are you sure you can afford the time? hehehehhe
How many days is enough, should i plan to travel to Jawa? We spent a week in Bali last december. That seems to be too fast! So many things to do yet so little time. Jawa on the other hand is so much bigger than BALI. And of course i can pulkam to Blitar while i'm there. Any advise? - Lyn
