I was in a store the other day, when I heard a child screaming at the top of his lungs. It was so annoying!!! The parent and the child made their way to the aisle I was on. The child was in the buggy hollering for some toy. The mom was talking to the child in a calm voice and then tryied to kind of ignore the child. The child hauled off and hit the momma. She did nothing-no fussing, spanking, or even verbal response of punshishment!!! Like that will be so many minutes of timeout when we get home. NOTHING!!! I was literally shocked. No child of mine is going to hit me and nothing be done about it. Don't get me wrong I dont believe in abuse or anything like that but that child should have recieved some form of punishment for hitting his mother. The child will think that it is exceptable behavior. Maybe the mom didnt think anything was wrong. I know I did!! It stunned me because if anyone of my two try to hit me,they will definitely receive punishment from me.

I completely agree with you. If the kid is doing that at this point, imagine what will happen 5 years from now. There are obviusly many ways to discipline your kid besides abuse. Taking things away, etc. Bottom line, if it doesn't stop sooner than later, it will be much harder.
