Babies in restaurants

More and more café's are putting up signs asking mothers with babies not to feed them (the natural way)in the café area but to go to the toilet or to bottle them only. In my opinion is so rude to ask a mother to do something that natural and necessary in the bathroom - not exactly the most clean place in the universe!
Do mothers feeding their babies the natural way offend you in café's and restaurants?

I find this very offensive, feeding your child is natural! If other people are offended by the process, then perhaps they could make it a rule that the woman covers up, like with a nursing cloth or something, but to banish her to the restroom???!!!! How rude!
This is really a sign of how society thinks now. Our children are not the priority. If they were, this whole thing wouldn´t be an issue! Here in Guatemala, you see women walking down the street feeding their babies in slings and no one says a word. But here they also consider children to be a major part of life and you are actually more respected for having several kids, which isn´t so in Western countries.

I think that's a form of discrimination. The restaurants and cafe's should just provide a small room that could work as a nursing room for mothers who needed it. A toilet is definitely not the place to feed your kid, they serve food, they should know better. That really gets on my nerves.

I wouldn't be offended at all by this. I think its natural and most babys are fed that way. I guess it could offend some people, but I wouldn't think more than the people who aren't offended. But I guess in a restaurant they try and make everyone happy...

I personally think as long as the baby is covered with a blanket its not that bad. How sad to think use a bottle? How would a mother know that before going? The restroom cant be clean OR COMFORTABLE!
I wouldnt care. I think its not right for people to be so inconsiderate of a natural thing. This will probably make mothers want to NOT go to that place to eat anymore, thats for sure.

In many, many places this type of thing is considered discrimination. Where do you live? I would never put up with that!!

I am a mother of two boys and I BF them both. It is possible to feed your baby in public and be very private about it. It you see a mother feeding a baby who is covered with a blanket, what is there to complain about? If this still bothers you, look the other way. I am sure the mother does not have out a sign saying "watch me"! If you find that you can not direct your gaze elsewhere, then maybe some therapy would help you get over your issues!

i would say if they are costing them loss they should make some arrangements for the feeding of the babies like allotting small room for such a thing so that both the mothers can also be happy and even the owner also can be happy.

why should this be offensive to anyone it is nature !
I would if I were the mother ask them if they would like to eat in the bathroom that is disgusting however it dosent realy surprise me as we seem to put so little value on children these days !

Yes, i think that's kinda rude. Or if I were the business manager or the owner, I would put a rule wherein I won't let any babies inside my restaurant rather than having them being fed inside a bathroom. Or, i'm gonna make an area where it can be done. Say, a comfort lounge where they can do that away from the other people eating in the restaurant. I would really say no to the idea of having it done in a comfort room. It's unethical. :)

it doesn't offend me, but I don't do it, I am about to have my baby and will leave and breasfeed in my car or bathroom instead as I did with my other. I jsut feel weird abou it although it's completly normal.
