different ways of strummin a guitar?

i know most of the chords and stuff but while accompanying a singer, in what all different ways can a guitar be strummed?i do know that there are many methods for the different time signatures but i'm just interested in knowing 4/4 and 3/4..

There is No limit of strumming the guitar, but its the nice way to catch the bass from songs or from drums then make strumming with it.

The 4/4 beat is down,down,up,up,down,up. Im not so sure about the 3/4 but I think its down,down,up,down,up,down,up,down. Hope I helped.
