Have you ever gone on a cruise? With what cruiseline? Did you like it?

I have reservations to go on a Carnival Cruise in June, and I am really looking forward to it! I think it will be really great. Has anyone gone on a Carnival cruise, or with any other cruise line? What was your experience like? The ship we are going on is Holiday. Any experience with that ship? We are going to Cozumel and Calica.

We did a cruise on the Holiday to Cozumel and Playa Del Carmin for our honeymoon and loved it. We didn't do any of the shore excursions as a lot of people complained about being rushed. We didn't do them because we didn't find an interest not because people were complaining.
On one of the ports we were approached by a a guy who wanted to sell us pot!!! My wife didn't understand what was going on and I grabbed her hand, said no thanks and we we're gone...had a blast the rest of the day, pot free!
Some tips.
Get a soda card (just one), it will save you tons in soda.
Tell EVERYONE your on your honeymoon, you will get tons of cool stuff.
I wont spoil the rest, have fun!!!!

Oops, they're called Mantis or Pistol shrimp. MY bad. I just read where they can break a finger if handled. I DO NOT doubt this. I thought my toe was broke.

holy cow, that sucks about that thing hitting your toe!!
Well, this is actually our one year anniversary trip, so maybe we'll get goodies for that too!! We went to Disney World for our honeymoon and definitely reaped the benefits of being honeymooners!! Primo seating at Wolfgang Puck, VIP passes to parades, free tickets, it was great.
We are going shore excursions..in Cozumel we're doing a kayak and snorkel adventure, then in Calica, we're just taking a bus to the beach for a few hours and there we can snorkel more if we want to.
How was the boat? Was it nice? A lot of people say it's shabby b/c it's older.

Since it was our first cruise I have nothing to compare it to. We thought it was great. We want to go back and try a bigger ship next time just because.
I loved the 24 hour pizzaria (yumm!!). Oops, a spoiler.
The only bad thing I can remember was our hallway (at the other end, thank god) stunk of sewer. We had an outside window on the same deck as we got on.
Be sure to visit the very topmost deck, he he.
Oh, we also went at a later time of the year which was hurricane season, yup, we had to skip a port one day to avoid a small hurricane which created some rocky waters. We could see it off in the distance. At one point the ship yawed so hard to one side, a whole rack of sodas in a locked closet fell over while we were watching a show. The next day there were barf bags EVERYWHERE as some people just couldn't get their sea-legs.
Wghen you see little round patches on peoples necks, it's for sea-sickness. I guess we were immune to it all.
