Do you have bosses that have no idea what they are doing?

I work in a sales business, and I have 9 managers. Yes 9. Just like that movie, "Office Space." Yet, only 2 of my 9 bosses have actually done the job before. They tend to spend all their time tracking, and reading reports, but very little time actually helping their subordinates. Do any of you have bosses like these, and how would you approach them if you had the chance?

Yeah my boss has no clue what he is doing. i often feel like i know more more than him, but since he has been there longer he is better. in most companies you have to work your way up and i have yet to do so. Until then i have to put up with dumb bosses....

Hmmm... i have a boss like that before. She tend to depend to her subordinates to do the hard work. And she'll be the one to report it to the big boss... she does report the details well which is feed from her subordinates but whenever she is ask questions from the board, she can't answer it well. Too bad, we can't even freely approach her and give some suggestions... all of us were afraid of her.
I can't stay long for such superior... i will not grow professionally there so i quit.
