Does anyone else let sales dictate your grocerie shopping? I sometimes find myself walking through the aisles in the grocerie store only looking at products with sale signs or buy one get one free signs. It feels like I'm saving money, and I guess I am; however I'm sure I'm also limiting the vaiety of the diet we eat.

Yes, I always try to buy what's on sale. There's always something different next week so I think you can still have variety. I check the internet for my grocery store specials for that week to see if I have the required spices (or whatever) already on hand. I also visit the bakery thrift stores and farmer's market. And another thing I like to do is go to BBQ or spaghetti suppers at various churches trying to raise money for a worthy cause. btw, love your avatar! :)

I always look through the adds in the paper then write my list go through my coupons get the ones I need. I only buy meat when it's $0.99 a pound, package it up and put it in the freezer. I always stock up on the sale items, I buy the maximum allowed. I stick to my list and I don't take kids or the hubby with me. Sometimes they raise the prices on the products that are supposedly buy one get one free. Check the regular price and the watch for the sale prices on the items when they are not buy one get one free to see if you are actually getting a deal.

I always shop the sales. If you do it enough, you'll have a varied diet because different things go on sale. Some things are seasonal, so if you stock up a little when they're the cheapest, you won't have to pay full price when they're expensive.

We have a list. Whatever is on that list, we buy. So sale prices don't affect the food we eat, although we do buy the brand that is the cheapest - so sale price has an effect on the brand that we buy.

I do try to stock up on the basics when they're on sale, and I like to get meat that's on sale before it expires. So I'll go to the store and know that I need meat for 3 meals, but I won't know what kind of meat until I see what's cheapest. It's easy for me to have some side dishes to add, and basic seasonings for lots of different meats. So I might plan on making one dish, but end up doing something different because I got a good deal on a different cut.

I always shop with a list. And I usually stick to basics that are never on sale, so the prices don't change much. Stuff that's on sale is usually fast food or expensive stuff that I don't normally eat.

At my local super market they reduce things at the end of the day so me and my partner always go late. You get some real bargains but you also buy things you don't need and wouldn't buy normally so be careful your not just wasting money when you buy goods that are reduced.

I don't let it dictate what I buy. I got to the store with a preset menu/list of items I need. If there happens to be great deals (for instance 10 for 10) on items I use frequently or know will be used in the near future, I will go ahead and buy them. I don't just buy stuff because it's on sale though. ....clothes are a whole other story though ;)
