Herschelle Gibbs broke a world record by becoming the first man to hit six sixes in an One Day International. The poor suffering bowler was dutch Dan Van Bunge. You comments please. Cheers! Ram

I knew, if it were ever going to happen (six 6s in an over) then it were only one among Herschelle Gibbs or Adam Gilchrist could do that! And to my expectations, Gibbs did that and what a platform to create such a great record!! Indian players like Sehwag should get inpirations from such great players and brutal hitters of the ball and score some runs (even against teams like Bangladesh or Bermuda). Three cheers to Gibbs.. Hip Hip Hurray....!! Hip Hip Hurray.....!! Hip Hip Hurray....!!!

In fact, even I had picked Gibbs to achieve the feat, simply because he gets ruthless and does not consider the weak opposition too lightly. I have always seen him rake huge centuries. Cheers! Ram

yes Herschelle Gibbs was in punishing mood and we all know his capability of hitting sixes when he murdered Australian bowling when they were chasing world record of 434 to win .today it was poor Dan Van Bunge who doesnt know what to do when he was bowling to Gibbs.he infact has won huge prize money for hitting six sixes for 'six sixes challenge' .'the six sixes challenge' has been launched, with tournament sponsor Johnie Walker offering the $1 million to habitat for humanity housing projects for the first batsmen to hit six sixes in one over at the world cup and Gibbs has achieved it.

Wow! that's a huge amount $1 million. Giggs must be smiling all his way to the bank. He might need all of those to get out of the betting scandal that he is caught in here in India. Cheers! Ram

The effort came in the 30th over and slow left-armer Daan van Bunge was the victim. The attack took Bibbs from 32 to 68 in six balls. The next over, Bunge caught Gibs at 72, off Luuk van Troost.

This is something that cricket fans expect from a bomb shell like Herschelle Gibbs. He blasted and blasted in such a manner that the world record book got a special page for him! I knew that if anybody can hit 6 sixes in an over, they it can only be either Gibbs or Gilchrist, and to my expectations, Gibbs did it nicely. I hope we get to see lots more of such miracles from Gibbs.. Trually great performance!!

BTW, when Gayle hit three consecutive sixes, I thought he was going to equal Gibbs record. But, you are right, hitting 6 sixes requires a unique mental setup especially in today's game of thinking cricket. Cheers! Ram

well it was mistake by bowler because he was new and gibbs haves the lot of experience but the bowler had to make the change in his bowling to get rid of him.but he doesnot try about it and gibbs made a mignicificant record.
