While getting my coffee, once again I reached for my cigarettes, and of course they weren't there, I quite smoking on Feb 19, 1998, and I still on occasion miss it, I always say i am one cigarette away from starting because I know if I took that one drag, I would be finished. So I do not dare start again, for a few reasons, the first being cost, the second all the dam rules and regulations about where and when you can smoke , at least there are here in Canada. And the third i hate to admit, I do feel a bit better, I do not wheeze as much. But I tell you I do so miss them. I know there are millions out there that stand on there cracker box and expound the evils of smoking, and that is their story , mine is I still love the smell of cigarette smoke. OK my question is to you do you have all the rules and regulations about smoking, or has some one given you grief about you habit, Would love to hear from you.

Hi Robin, congratulations. I have alyas been telling myself to quit this "nasty habit". Ohh but its really hard to stop especially when I'm having my coffee, its just so natural to have a little puffy on my hand... We have places here that don't allow smokers and I'm also considerate not to smoke in public places. It's really hard to something that you know would eventually kill us. ha,ha

Hello Sutan, thank you for your thoughts, and as for something going to kill you, that is a whole different thought I have on that. I believe that we as humans carry in our bodies all the possible ailments. like it is sort of written to our genes. some of us are susceptible, and some are not. As well we also carry the preventive gene in our body. How else do you explain how some people can smoke all their lives and never get sick, where as some smoke very little or not at all, other than second hand smoke, get cancer. So if we have the gene that says you are going to get cancer, smoking may or may not provoke it. These ideas are just my own and not medical facts, but I do often wonder, why some people get sick and others go through life with nary a cold.I am sure there is a code written in our genes and it is like a lottery,

Congrats Robin on breaking the nasty habit that I still enjoy so much.
Yes I am sick and tired of all the rules and regulations that makes me feel like a crimminal. I know all the health hazards and bad things that go with smoking but, to stop should be my choice not one forced on me by the government and socity.
It seems that each day the law abiding citizens lose another freedom while at the same time the crimminal obtains a new right or freedom.

Hi Robin: I quit smoking in february 1996 and here we are, I too am about a drag away from starting. I'm like you it wouldn't take much and I'd be right back at it. That just isn't going to happen because I had a hard time quitting this last time and I have three good reasons to not smoke, I want to be there for my daughter and watch my two grandchildren grow up. I can't think of one good reason why I should smoke, so it's all sewed up...No No and NO...

Hi there, isn't it a good reason that gets us started, I couldn't walk across my living room with out wheezing. I was one of those that thought I would be sitting my coffin, saying , Hold on just a sec, gotta have that one last drag. I do not want to go back there again/
