I have been due for an evaluation at my job since Oct. 2006. I was away on leave and didn't come back until the beginning of November, 2006. I have been due for an evaluation and I have gone to the Human Resources manager on more than one occasion. She has sent them the information for my evaluation about 2 or 3 times now. A co-worker of my side I should mention it to my boss' boss, but I don't think that is a good idea because I think it will piss them off and may have a negative impact on my evaluation. How would you handle this?

I think first you should talk to your boss directly and find out why the evaluation has not yet been conducted and when it would be conducted. Based on his reply wait for that many days and then give him a gentle reminder. If it still does not happen then you need to approach his boss and rather than complaining, just mention as a matter of fact that you evaluation is still pending and you are anxious about it. If nothing happens even after that, then you can directly tell you boss' boss that nothing seems to be happening.
I guess this approach will solve your problem.
Cheers!

for all you know they could be doing the evaluation right now and you won't even know it evalutations are supposed to come up with a little bit of a surprise and then some of them you get taken into the bosses office and he or she asks you a bunch of questions and tells you what your doing good and what your doing wrong. i say go to your boss ask him if he has time to do your evaluation that you would like to know what are the things that you need to work on so that you can be a better employee.....go on your lunch break tho going during work time could pose a problem
