Supervisors ...

We all have had many supervisors threw out our lives with different jobs that we have had ... Have you ever had one that turned into a great friendship ??? I used to work in a factory (pork rind factory ) ... We always had alot of different supervisors and some , well I just wanted to break their neck to be honest , they had no clue what they were doing yet they were in charge over the place ... lol Then I met Leon , he was a great supervisor !!! He was my age and he was nice yet strict as well but things were so much better at work when he was there ... I know I was a pain in his butt at times well many times but I looked up to him , he was a great guy , a hard worker , he appriceated his shift , it was like he was still one of us , he was always there for anyone who needed to talk or needed a friend , trust me its a wonder he still has ears after listening to me ...lol I had been at the factory for 7 years and Leon had been there almost as long as me , but they fired leon for being right and speaking his mind !!! To me that wasn't fair at all , needless to say the facory whent to hell after wards and we lost the best supervisor we ever had , I hated to see him go !!! After getting a new no it all supervisor who didn't know anything !!! I had gotten into a pretty bad agument with him for not running a machine that he wanted me to run !!! He treated me horrible that day and was in my face , so I told him if he wanted his machine to be ran ,I hoped he had fun and I gave him my smock and left , I quit my job that day and even though I hated my supervisor that I had at the time I still miss all the great people I worked with ... I still talk to leon every now and then and his is still that same great person that he has always been !!! He works very hard to support his family , he has a great wife named Jennie and 3 beautiful little girls ... I have referred him here to mylot so im hoping everyone will make him feel welcome like you all have done me !!!

You know some supervisor take their advantage over work to mess other people's life. Most of them don't have conscience and doesn't even know what is right. There is a saying, never hurt people you see on your way up because on your way down, you might still see them. It's always good to be nice to people because you never can tell what tomorrow would look like. If I was to be under this supervisor, I will probably do what you did by quiting but it's a kinda hard decision coz you won't get to see peeps you share things in common with. But all the same, life goes on. Your friend Leon is welcome to mylot community, here he will get to meet wonderful people that will contribute to his wellbeing.

Hey there !!! thanks for your comment ... quiting that job scared me at first but I still see alot of my friends from there and alot of them no longer work there either !!! Thanks for welcoming Leon ...

Some supervisors let their power go to their heads and they think they can control every part of the shop. This makes people see them less as humans and more as machines. The more machine like you see someone, the more possible it is for you to want to snap their necks. But no, i've had some very human supervisors in my time and I have made friends with quite a few of them. Generally the younger supervisors are the best. Wacth out for the older generation woman supervisors. It is extremely likely they will have a 'femi-nazi' complex, growing up in a society where woman generally had less power. Don't aggravate them (especially if you are young and male) because they will destroy you.

i have been a supervisor for almost a year now, i feel that we should not be too strict and not to lenient. my co workers, even those under my supervision are friends with me.

He seemed to be a good friend to you too. I wonder why they fired such a great supervisor like Leon ? did he do something wrong, or maybe just certain people envy with his success ? And how is he today ? Is his job now comfortable for him ? Too bad that some people didn't recognize someone's capabilities and they only give little respect for that. I hope you and Leon can continue your friendship.
