I keep wondering about studying in America... I'm British, living in England and already thinking of going back to education (I'm 25) and making a career for myself:D
I wonder if I could study in the US! There's a lot of you on here from over there... any advice? It'd be a great experience plus I'd be getting on with the studying side of things... but I don't really know much about what opportunities are out there.
Its a pretty cool thought tho... but seriously, without me dreaming about it and if I slap myself and be realistic about this idea... any advice?

Hello callybop! Come on. Just be prepared for everybody saying "Oh I just love your accent!" lol!
Maybe you could find some exchange student programs.
I've seen some problems with getting a visa and such resulting in foreign students missing a semester or a year in school til it was straightened out. Just something to think about. I know little about immigration issues.
Do a lot of research on the internet, and good luck. :)

Hey Julia thanks for your response!! :D
Do you guys like the British accent then? I thought people might make fun of it haha :D
Yeah I'll definitely do some research and take that Visa issue into account!
Just a question too... do you know what the Social Work system is over there? Social work, Youth work, Probation officers, that sort of thing?
Thanks for the advice :D and the good luck wishing ;)

The social work system... In local government we have social services with social workers who help people manage things like adoptions and foster parents. And there are probation officers who criminals out on probation had to report to. I am not entirely familiar with the system as I've never used it. There's many laws, rules and regulations that make it fairly confusing for me.
And yes, we love the British accent. :)
