I have been recently participating in the cash mystery auctions on ebay. Does anyone else do this, and is it considered gambling??

I have never seen these on Ebay...what is it exactly? Are you bidding on a set amount of cash from the seller?? That is kinda cool...please let me know that sounds really interesting!!

Not exactly. What you do is, you buy an e-envelope for, lets say $1.00. Then you envelope will contain cash amounts from $0.25 to about $100. You will never know what you will get! I think they are fun, but would it be considered gambling?

Hi, I am a powerseller on ebay & very familiar with the rules. It is illegal on ebay to sell lottery tickets. That is why it is worded to be politically correct so ebay doesn't remove the auction. Such as you will be purchasing an envelope & only an envelope. More than likely you will not win more than you paid. It is a way for sellers and buyers to increase their feedback. You can not sell feedback on ebay either. Ebay removes a lot of auctions for digital items below a certain amount because they consider it the selling of feedback. You can take your chances but you will probably not get much more than you paid.

I have seen them before but would probably never buy them. They seem tempting, but the people aren't prefessionals which would sell some with real value and some with almost nothing but these people will just put in something tiny they found around the house. It' not all of them but most will do it. It's not classified as gambling, but as throwing money away.
