Very true, but why can't we break the repetive cycle that started with our great great great grand parents?

Thank you for your reply. It is true, if we want our children to handle stressful situations, we 1st have to change the pattern that our parents and so forth began.

You learn from your surroundings and become what you see or know ( it's out of your control and happens whether you like it or not). Just think of cases where children grow up in abusive homes. I'm sure it's not what they want to become, but there is a very high likelyhood that they will treat their children in the same manner in which their parents treated them.

absolutely correct. It is so hard to break the cycle. I feel like we are on a never ending treadmill that goes around in circles.

I wish I had turned into my mother...my house would be a lot less messy. Of course, it could still happen. LOL.

Oh on that note, yes, I want to be my mother for her housecleanning when she was in her 30's the house was clean even with 9 kids. All the laundry done, fresh cooked dinner nightly. and she still had time to help with homework.
