Are there any ice hockey fans out there who are losing interest too?

I have been an ice hockey fan for years but ever since the lockout I just can't get my interest back. I used to take my daughter and nephews to AHL games every year and we haven't been to one. I don't know if it is the new rules, the fact that there aren't as many fights or what it is. Anyone else feel this way too?

I have lost some interest in hockey, especially after they had the lockout. I think that took away most of my interest as both the owners and players got greedy. I still watch it from time to time but not as much as before. Flyer games still get sold out so there has not been a lack of interest in Philly it seems but for me it has not been the same. The new rules may have taken away a little as well.

I agree with you.the flyers haven't been the same .I do love hockey alot but not as much as I used to and a lot of it had to do with the lockout.

I started to lose interest in ice hockey after some of the main hockey players themself retired, but now people like Crosby and etc.. are taking over they are making the highlight rolls on sportscenter and espn and etc.. which is making it more and more interesting then it ever was. but some of the new rules they made had changed the speed of the game so more goals are scored.. I also don't like how most games are shootouts now.. I remember years back shootouts would be something awsome to watch, now it happens regularlly and its getting boring.

I totally agree with what you said about the shootouts. We see them so often now that they just aren't exciting.

I lost interest long ago. I grew up watching the original six teams. I think it was the golden age of hockey. There was simply nothing like "hockey night in Canada " on Saturday nights. The players were the best. Imagine,, only six teams. You had to be great to make it.. The game and the players have changed so much. I am so glad I had a chance to watch the most exciting hockey years the world ever saw.

In my town the AHL team draws only about 1000 people per night. The hockey just is not that good to watch. However, our college team draws around 5000. In my opinion, the college game is so much more entertaining, even without the fighting. These guys seem to have real passion for the game, instead of acting like their just trying to make a living.

I never been this excited for hockey than this year! Finally got tv channel here, which shows at least 5 games per week. I don't even care which teams play, I just LOOOOVE hockey. Not that I watch all the games, but couple games a week. If I ever visit USA or Canada, sure thingy that I'll go and watch at least one NHL-game live. Actually, I think I'm visiting Canada for the Olympics;) Most of all, I like international games and we have those pretty often, it's just too bad that it's mainly between SWE, FIN, RUS and CZE. Would like to see othse teams as well.
