Many people have issues with South Park because they tend push so many people buttons on so many subjects, religion, race, politics and so. It seems that they really don't care who they offend but everyone is bashed equally on this show. I agree is a funny show and honestly should be taken to heart.

As long as it's equal-opportunity bashing, I'm all for it.
They definitely do not have discrimination issues, as they don't discriminate on who gets bashed and who doesn't.
Also, its controversy is one of the things that makes it so funny, in my opinion.
I don't watch TV, but I rent South Park videos, by the way.

I really like the show..It is true that at first South park seems like a cruel little cartoon, yelling and screaming to the world, swearing and cursing about everyone and everything...but that's on the surface..if you start watching and listening to the episodes and the voices of the characters it becomes evident that south park and its creators take on much more demanding and important issues...and make several good points about whats going on in the US and in the world.

I really think that the people who have problems with the show are missing the points they are trying to make.
They are showing how silly some things are, and the message is often the opposite of what the characters do. I don't think the show is meant for young children, that's not their target audience. That's why it's on later in the evening.
I think it's great that they can bring up serious issues and make them hilarious while still getting a point across. You just have to watch the show and not get offended.
One that seemed to offend alot of people was the 'N word' one. But they really went into why it's wrong to use it. So why did everyone get upset? Because alot of people didn't actually watch the episode before making their decision that it was so wrong. They just heard what it was about and went from that, instead of watching and making an informed opinion.
Me, I think the show is really funny, and I hope it's on for a long time! But, if someone doesn't like it, there are alot of other channels to watch!

The problem with the general perception of South park is that it is pure shock value and toilet humor. This was true for the first year or two, but around year three, things started to change, and now it is a completely different show.
Those who bash it, I can gauranteem have never actually listened to what was going on in an episode. They have taken on issues like Wal-Mart (which is the worst thing to happen to the American economy in a long time), the elderly, religion (Scientology and Mormonism especially), swearing on TV, violence in the media, education, among many other issues.
They do still have their shock value episodes, but all-in-all, Trey Parker goes for a much more mature cartoon than most people will ever give him credit for.

I completely agree. In my mind South Park is just a very funny cartoon that mocks things that need mocking... ;-)

I think that people get afended easly and wheal lets just say that south park isint shy about making fun of everyone and some people cant take a joke so they get ofended and get stuckup.I dont now why but people get stuck up only when they are made fun of til then its all good but when its about them than its a hole new situation.Thats why i like south park they dont make exeptions they just make fun of everyone.

arghhh it's jsut a cartoon, the simpsosn portrays bad behaviour and many of our superheros condone fighting, and violence so if that is the case there are so many cartoons and programmes that could portry what others think are immoral values then we may as well not watch tv at all. South Park is supposed to be funny if people don't like it they don't ahve to watch it or let their children. I do think that parents should only allow their children to watch such programmes if they feel their child is responsible enough to watch and not repeat but without banning tv, radio, videogames, and even interaction with all other human beings there si no sure way to stop anyone picking up bad influences.

I think South Park is as it is purely for shock value. As long as people keep getting shocked they are going to get worse and worse.
Then there are those like you who wonder what the problem is. You must be like I am, not easily shocked. I just figure "whatever," and go on with it. I don't care what people think.

It is full of violence, at least it was a few your ago when I watched it. I never did like it. It teaches kids that its alright to curse and kill. It is just a bad influence on the whole world. I never liked this and I never like Beavis and Butthead. They are so annoying and a bad influence.

I have never watched it because it looks really silly to me, but I know alot of people really like it. Just because I don't care for somethiing doesn't mean it isn't good. People just like to complain and judge...

I believe that's the reason why some people love it and most hate it. They'll take an issue or someone famous and make a complete mockery of him/her or it. When the first episode aired, I kept hearing parents saying "OMG they're only 3rd graders and they cuss like sailors on that show" or "First thing I'm doing is getting Comedy Central off my cable subscription." But no matter how much people b**** about the show, I believe South Park will keep going strong.
