If there was a fire, huricane, tornado and you had to leave your home fast ... what would you NOT take?

Actually there is quite a lot I wouldn't take with me. All the furniture, the bills, food, the appliances. Pretty much most of the house actually. I can't think of anything that I'd risk my life to take with me. If I had to leave in that much of a hurry I'd just get out. Now if I had time to plan that's different, like with a hurricane but since you said fast I'd just get out.

Nice question! No one ever poses it this way. I would not take anything that is replaceable, I guess. Things that have no emotional value - they would be replaced by insurance so I wouldn't worry about them. Electronics, furniture, things like that I could easily leave behind. UNfortunately, due to logistics, I would probably have to leave behind my piano, and it would break my heart, but it's a pretty difficult thing to move, you know? Depedning on time, I would get my husband and my dogs... and then get any important paperwork (insurance, wills, birth certificates, marriage license) and if I had time, I'd get picture albums and maybe my PC hard drive...

Our hall furniture. It is so ugly. It used to belong to my mothers aunt. She was a wonderful person, but had very oldfashioned taste. This is a typical 70s furniture. A small thing with three drawers. It used to be a medium dark wood. We painted it white. It helped a little. I will however change it as soon as our economic situation changes for the better.

I wouldn't take my furniture, appliances, or fish tank. I think that I would try my hardest to grab the other stuff.

I didn't take anything, I made sure my kids got out and then the cats when I heard them meowing. They followed the sound of my voice and they got out ok. Life is most important and although there are days I wished that I had perished, life is precious and since I have lived on I have met some neat people. Wish I could have chosen to not take the memories of before the fire.

I would like to think that I had enough time to gather up some very small sentimental items. I wouldn't really care to much about anything else, such as furniture and stuff, as my safety would be utmost in my mind. I would just leave it all behind me.

This may sound like a joke but, this is true - my house. Sorry, I can't do anything about this even if I will be given sufficient time for saving everything.

I would not take the appliances, furniture, linens, clothing, electronics (except maybe the computer) I would only really choose to take my family and pets, my collection of antique religious books, photographs, bill book, purse/money

I'd be happy to leave the TVs behind - not that I could carry them anyway. I would leave my husband's favorite t-shirt, because it just drives me crazy. I would leave the vast majority of things, really - most of it just isn't important enough to waste precious seconds grabbing in an emergency situation.

It is harder to figure out what to leave. I wouldn't take most of my gf's clothes and the kitchen sink. I'd also leave all of those vhs tapes that people won't buy at the yard sale either. I would leave my worries too. LOL.
