Important to need advice, reading book and do searching before...Aren't You?

How many of us try like heck to get all the appropriate information we need before we try to accomplish something really big (or even small things)? A few months ago, I invested some money into something and I didn't bother to tell my accountant about it. I didn't want him to talk me out of it. The short story is I lost a lot of money due to my wanting to feel like a smart guy.That was one big hurt that i keep in mind when i feel like charging off without consulting my advisor , reading books and doing searching more, etc.
