I think that everyone should do whatever they can to prevent global warming. I'm convinced that many of the odd weather patterns and natural disasters in recent years are due to global warming.
I want our children, grandchildren and all living beings on the planet to live in a healthy and happy environment. It's sad to see polar bears dying and icebergs melting along with the other effects of global warming.
You might ask what can you do. The answer is talk to your legislators
and ask what are they doing to prevent global warming. I saw how Brazil uses sugar cane stalks and converts it to ethanol. They also drive flex fuel cars that run on E85 or gas. E85 is better for the environment. I think Brazil set the example for the world to follow.
So do you think that we are obligated to help save our planet?

Remember that the Global Warming is still considered as a theory. But I strongly believe in global warming (even though President George W. Bush doesn't). Scientists have been researching (and still is now) how to reduce toxic fumes released into the atmosphere. Just hope that they can find a way. To even talk to your legislators, you'll need a sort of a petition for your neighborhood to sign.

Thanks for your response. I'm very passionate about preventing global warming and raising awareness. About 1 year ago I wrote my legislators and the governor of my state. They all responded and told me what they were doing. A petition would help, but if a single person writes an email to their legislators that will help too.
It was interesting that my state has 2 E85 filling stations for state vehicles only. They also have some flex fuel vehicles, yet there are no public E85 filling stations and the E85 vehicles for sale are big and ugly. I also wrote Ford and GM. They supply Brazil with flex fuel cars in a variety of vehicles, but not to the US. They said they couldn't use my idea to mass market in the US, etc.
Don't they want to make money and be proactive about preventing global warming?

Just one other thing. I commend Al Gore for raising the publics awareness. He gets my vote even though he's not running for president!
