Why all the road rage?

Why is it that people are in such a hurry all the time? Why do we get so angry at slower drivers? I understand getting upset with people that cut you off, or drive in such a way that you feel like they aren't paying attention to what they are doing. I also understand about sitting in traffic and how that gets your nerves a little frazzled, but I see so much discourtesy to drivers on the roadways anymore that I almost hate to go anywhere. What happened to all the courteous drivers?

That's one of the sad realities of this day and age, especially on western roads. Most people tend to loose temper quicker on the road compared to other situations. I've seen a couple and they aren't a pretty sight...
..at all.

I know and I don't understand how we got to be that way. People just run over each other all the time nowadays. Everyone is in such a hurry. I admit I do get frustrated when someone goes around me like they are in a big hurry, just to come to almost a complete stop a block or two up the road to turn into somewhere. Stuff like that irritates me, but I don't get why people do stuff like that. It's like everyone is in such a big hurry, that they are all but rude to everyone else. It's just crazy!
