Does it creep you out when an old man hits on you?

I get hit on by a lot of old men at my work. It really creeps me out. I mean yeah they might be lonely or desprite but I'm only 18 and they're like 70. I had one 50 year old guy ask me if he could buy me and how much I would cost. Another guy tried to get me to leave and go with him in his semi-truck. Why do older men do this? Is it some kind of sick joke or do they not realize it's creepy and that we could be their grandkids?

that's exactly the point: we could be their grandkids! at some point older men tend to brag with their affairs.. the younger the "temptations" the better they feel. i don't really know what exactly happens inside their weird old brains but there are many men like that. take some of my teachers at school for example. the worst one of all would be my history teacher, after we got rid of the physics teacher (because of the exact reasons among many others). he keeps staring at us as if he doesn't care we see him... gosh... could you imagine a teacher asking you to stand up from the desk without any reson but to stare at your feet, as that day you are wearing a skirt...(that's what my deskmate had to go through)... it's absurd, i know... and the worst thing is that no one does anything! after all they're teachers!

That's really messed up. I would have done whatever I could about that. It's not right to be harassed like that. Men don't have to put up with creepy older women hitting on them like that. If they did then they would probably like it. PIGS!!!

I think they sometimes forget their age. :P Maybe you are so engaging that they are too engrossed with you that they can't think other thoughts. As long as you stay careful, take that as a compliment! ;-)

I had to chuckle at that picture you posted with this discussion, that old man says the funniest things. I assume that you're a "Family Guy" fan? Did you see the episode where Herbert (the old man in the photo) saw a naked kid walk by and he was like "Holy moly, it must be my birthday!" As for the situation you're talking about, this is rather scary (you being 18 having a 70 year old trying to pick you up)! I assume that older guys hit on younger girls because they want to feel young again. The oldest guy that's ever hit on me was in his late 30s when I had turned 19 at the time, he claimed that he thought I was older though, so it wasn't a big deal. Once he knew my age he didn't pry anymore..so I respected him for that.

I love Family Guy!!! I know that episode. I think that old guy is rather disturbing expecially in that one. I look young for my age even so it was almost like them hitting on a 16 year old.

Haha, it creeps me out too!! I dont think they realize that we think of them as icky old men. Most of them are probably trying to see if they still have it, and a lot of them just like to flirt.

It happens to me all the time! But I excuse them because ..... well..... guys are naturally attacted to youth, especially if one is beautiful as well. That's a bonus. It used to frighten me a lot and at times, I'd try to find some excuse to avoid them and run off. But now I realize that most of the time it's pretty harmless. So enjoy the attention in the meantime. We are all young only once so enjoy it while you can!

Wow you made a really good point. That is so very true. I usually take it as a compliment anyways. I guess I better just enjoy the attention.

it is so gross, i completely understand. i worked in customer service, so i had to be kind and friendly for the job. so i guess these old men feel that they can say what they want and you just sit and smile and accept. no, not here. i dont mean that i would get rude and tell them how sick and disgusting they were, even though i wish i did, but no. for this one really old man, i just felt sorry for him and just stayed quiet. i am young enough to be his grand-daughter, and he even said it himself, but he never stoped telling me how pretty i was and that if only he was my age again and blah blah blah. yuck! another time that really sticks out in my mind was when i was pregnant with my first son. first of all, i am married, and my husband did a good job picking a nice sized rock, so its very noticeable and i never take it off. second of all, when this happend, i was very very pregnant, like 8 months pregnant, i was ready to pop open. so this man comes in and hits on me. i said "excuse me, im married!" and he said that it was fine by him, he didnt mind! then i backed up and pointed to my belly, and he said "that makes you even cuter". i cant beleive how gross men can get! this man was old enough to be my dad, and he kept explaining that he was so lonely. oh yeah, he was my creepiest experience.

It's really creepy for receiving blatant proposals and open invitation...ewww! I guess it's a way for them to feel young and prove to themselves that they are still virile enough for young women such as you.
