Eat a better diet, sleep better and choose to get out in the air of nature and walk and exercise. Life is too short to be depressed and so treating yourself nicely is a good buffer for the things that could affect you in a negative way. Be a friend and try to help them to eat and do those things that are good for them and they could work themselves out of it.
