The visible sign of the power of the Village, answerable only to the mysterious Number 1. SOme of the best actors and actresses of the era appeared in the role of Number 2, giving memorable performnces. Who were your favorites? Allow me to start this discussion with my Number 1 Number 2, Leo McKern! The only Number 2 to actually appear multiple times, he was the perfect antagonist to Number6's protagonist. I would say even that he was in many ways the opposite of Number 6, the other side of the coin. What 6 would have been had he succumbed to the Village. McKern's performance in th Penultimate episode ONCE UPON A TIME was brilliant, in my opinion. It has been said that McKern threw himself so intensly into his prformance in that episode that he suffered a mild nervous breakdown. When yo watch it, you can believe it. You can feel the energy of that performance still all these years later, as Number 2 engages in Degree Absolute in order to break Number 6. Opinions? Would love to hear them!
