I just discovered Amy Winehouse!

It has been a long time since any musician sparked my fire. I remember years ago when I heard Kid Rock for the first time and thought "wow, I like some hip hop" or whatever you could call his music, as I am just an old lady! Of course I ran out and bought all his CD's. I found lately that no new music was sparking my interest. One night I am in the kitchen and the hubby in the living room watching the Brit music awards. I heard this incredible voice and expected an older Jazz type person to be singing. I rounded the corner and was quite surprised to see Amy Winehouse in a stunning red dress and tattoos all over. She was incredible, I finished making dinner and immediately downloaded her song "rehab" I have heard that she is a drinker but I would be too at that age with that kind of job. Maybe she will end up like Janis Joplin or maybe she will sober up, either way I think she will have many more great songs!

Good to hear you've found music you like through the internet, that you might not hear otherwise! Amy Winehouse has got a beautiful, distinctive voice - continue to enjoy her music and that of others you sicover on the net!

I think she's brilliant. I first saw her on a music show on new years eve along with Paulo Nuttini and Ray LaMontagne among others and she's just so distinctive. she writes about her own experiences and you really feel the emotion. When I heard 'Rehab' I kept signing that for ages until my daughter threatened me with rehab, then I shut up haha!! I just hope she can get through her bad time as she's been hitting the bottle allegedly and had to cancel some concerts, but she's young and I'm sure she'll get through it all.

I really like the title song off her album 'Back to black', its one of my favourites on there, its so catchy! I also like the song on her album about someone called Mr Jones? I dont know what the exact name of the song is, but its fab!

I was watching something obscure on some channel the other day and in between programs they show videos.. some channel and show I can't even remember what it was, but I DO REMEMBER her video for You Know I'm No Good. She has a very different voice, and I really like artist like that !! I hate cookie cutter singers.. check out the video if you can find it.. it's really good.

I haven't been online much lately...I'm glad to hear you discovered her through the internet, because it is a great way to discover new talent. I discovered Ms. Winehouse through VH1's "You Oughta Know" thing that they do on TV (I hardly watch TV so this was a lucky thing). I also instantly fell in love with her. A few days later, I bought the album and I listen to it all the time! "They try to make me go to rehab I said, 'NO NO NO'" She is brilliant, and her sound is something that I'd like to imitate when I make my own music (record my own album, that is). Hoooray Amy, and also, congrats on getting married. Even though love is a losing game (har har har).

I discovered her through a friend months ago and fell in love immediately. There's just something about her voice. I still can't decide which album I like better because they both have a lot of great songs on them. And I'm really diggin' the song Valerie she did with Mark Ronson. It makes you wanna get up and dance.

I absolutely love Amy Winehouse..I was on Tmz.com and I listened to her song REHAB and I fell in love with her. She has this whole vibe thing going on that she doesnt care what anyone thinks which is an A-plus for her. Her voice is unlike any of our generation to day. Her hair, makeup & voice are from a different generation and lifestyle but she rocks it & it works for her.

I think she has just an amazing, soulful, old-school jazz/bluesy voice. It takes you to another dimension. Its good to see that good music can still be made.

I couldn't believe that i would fall in love with music like this. But i bought her album and there isn't one song i dont like, or skip. i love the entire album and i enjoy listening to it EVERYDAY. I also got my mom and other friends into her as well. She's just different and that's what i love most about her.
