Commercialisation of Cricket World Cup!!

Commercialisation of the now going on cricket world cup is on an overkill mode. I mean why should there be 32 teams when there are hardly half the same number of teams only that are given Test Status. What point is made by allowing teams like Scotland or Netherlands or for that matter Bermuda to compete with the masters of the game. Except perhaps a few records will be created - other than that there seems to be no reason. I don't even understand the marketing sense they make - whether such games will even have good attendance which is necessary for the organisers to make a profit from the individual match. It only dilutes the importance of the whole event. For instance, everyone knows the real World Cup starts only from the Super Eight stage. Such practises are not healthy for the game. Even if one were to argue saying we should encourage less gifted teams, it can be done by running some kind of qualifier matches like they do in Soccer World Cup.
