I feel so sorry for you. But this is the natural truth honey. Noone will be with us to eternity. People come people go in your case may be a pet. Sure you'll feel so depressed. But another will come to your life and with time, you will get rid of the sad feelings and only have the nice memories you shared with him. I got another discussion from you that you found another dog already. So I wish you equal happiness with the new one as well.

Yes our pets sure become part of our lives and our families don't they. We love them so much that it really hurts when they die. It is like people have said, like losing a part of your family. All you can do is keep the good memories alive and perhaps open your heart up to a new pet that you can give a nice home.

Our pets become like our family members..and it is very difficult to come to terms with losing them...especially when you suffered the trauma of seeing him get hurt. I don't have any magic answer for you..but I know how you feel..I held my dog on my lap while the vet administered the medication to put him to sleep..it tore my heart out but I wanted to be there for him...my husband held his face and looked into his eyes so he'd know we were still there...we cried for days..months we were so sad...we still miss him terribly...there just isn't a way to detach from such unconditional love..and that's what they give us...I pray that you will find your peace with this soon...but take your time...it's not "just an animal" it was YOUR pet..your family..it's natural to grieve...I wish I could help you through it..but we each take our own journey ....Bless you and I'll be thinking about you and your little mok-mok..Be well...safe journeys...

I'm really sorry to read about what happened to your dog, and also very sorry you were there to see it happen. What you are doing is the best thing you can do in my opinion; you're talking about it.
Years ago, I had three cats at home. One of them, Brutus, ran out into the street one night. I ran after him, and watched a semi run over where he was. I couldn't tell whether it had hit him, until I saw him fall over and start thrashing around in reflex. I ran to him, put my hand on his side, and he was still.
A horrible thing it was, and I'm sorry you had to see it. It takes time for these wounds to heal, but time IS a healer, and it's one of the best. "This too shall pass."
A good thing for you to do would be to remember all the fun things you did together. And try not to dwell on, "We'll never have those fun times again;" try to focus on all the times you showed him how much you loved him. You loved your Mok-Mok, he knew you loved him, and he loved you back. Remember that; it really does help. :)

Oh Jelaichie, I am so sorry to hear what happened to mok-mok. You saw it happen too and that makes it so much worse. We get so attached to pets that they become part of the family. I wish you a speedy recovery and hope you feel better very soon my friend.

oh I'm SO sorry. That must have hurt so much! I really don't know what to say because I know that nothing will make you feel better. I lost my cat of old age last November. It must be so much harder to lose your dog through an accident like that. I'm sure your dog was very happy to have you as an owner during his life. I'm so sorry that he didn't live longer.

Ia am so sorry about your dog. I know how hard it is to go through what you have, specially having seen the whole thing happening in front of you.
It will feel better soon, and you will be able to hold the memories of the good times you had with mok-mok .

I know how you feel about missing a pet and see them die.
My cat ( not any of the ones in my photos) had kidney failure for a year and half. For that year and half
she had all kinds of meds to take and go to the vets every day to get fluids subQ. She lived for a year and half after the vet told us. Till the day she had 4 or 5 bad spells. So we had to put her to sleep. We were there as they put her to sleep it was so sad to see her go so quiet.
I miss her every day and wish it didnt happen.
So sorry about your lose
