It would depend on the orchid. Each has its own type of flower. They are tricky to grow but once you get the hang of it you will do fine. I recommend doing a search to see what you can find out. They are normally grown in bark chips or attached directly to a slab of bark from a tree. They like humidity so spraying them every now & then wouldn't hurt. It is also very easy to get cuttings to sprout as well.

Hello, I guess it would also depend on what type of orchid you are talking about. I do know that a rare orchid here in Australia, only grows in nutrient deficient soil. I mean the kind of ground were nothing else will live in. This the Elephant eared spider comb orchid. Fuss over it or feed it, and you will have killed it. Maybe you are loving them too much.
