Yes, I do agree with your view. This is because we are following western culture blindly.

As India grows technologically, its cultural roots are still strong..The festivals portray the true culture of India..As far as amalgamating with the western cultures is concerned i think the youth is really appreciative of their own culture rather than completely affirming to western values!

I have the deepest respect for your country, to me it's a country of saints. Some of the world's greatest (if not the BEST) philosophers are from India. J.K. Krishnamurti, Osho, Paramahansa Yogananda, Ramana Maharishi and Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj are only a few people I can remember now. May God bless India forever. Amen.

I have to admit that most of what I know of Indian Culture is what I have seen in movies. Most of that is more of a British view point, and now Bollywood. The one movie that may have been more of an Indian view was Ghandi, but again that is only from a limited view, and don't know if it is authentic or not.
I am not one to really sit and study anything any more, I am getting older and don't read like I did when I was in school, or go to a library like I used to. I would like to know more, especially stuff I could look at on the internet (lots of graphics please ... hehehe).
I do know that the Indian culture is one of the major cultures of the world, and influences many people in places as far away as us in the US.
