jewelry blog -- new idea or no?

I recently started up a new blog to chronicle my experience starting up a little jewelry business. It is sort of a way for me to explain all the start-up, how it works for me, the time it takes, the little problems that I run in to, etc. I am hoping it is also another good way to promote my jewelry site, because I am hoping when people stumble onto my blog they take time to check my jewelry site link also. Is this a new and creative idea for a blog? I have seen SO MANY blogs about how to make money on the internet, what is a scam and what isn't, and who is making how much where, and I just wanted to do something a little different. Did I achieve this, or am I giving myself to much credit?

I liked your blog very much! I visited your shop too, the items are also very nice (especially the dragon coin earrings!) As for me, I started today with my first blog, and it is exactly one of the thousands Free-Money-Making-Blogs (lol!) Perhaps I can make some referrals that way, and also lead people to my site/shop, where I'm trying to sell some affiliate programs and e-books.

I am also guilty of the money making blog, just because I like to have a place to post my referral links and such. I am really bad at getting referrals, so the money blog is a nice helpful tool.

It sounds like a good idea. So many craft blogs just concentrate on the craft itself. Selling crafts can be pretty difficult, so talking about it as a business would be helpful for people. Good luck.

I know lots of people do have craft blogs, but I haven't seen any that deal with the business aspect, they just talk about ideas and patterns and such.
