my first job was assistant lecturer for physics laboratory. It wasn't my main or dream work, but I enjoyed that coz I can share my knowledge to my junior grade

My very first job was as a volunteer in a charity shop and although the job itself was ok, it was not what I really wanted to do. My first paid job lasted 3 days, I hated it. It was canvassing for a window company. The next job after that was a month at McDonalds. None of these, nor any subsequent job, was what I really wanted. It was a matter of taking what was offered at the time.

My very first job I was a donut finisher and no that doesn't mean eating the donuts. LOL I never knew what I wanted but I'm glad I had the experience of getting the various kinds of donuts ready for consumption. Putting the jellies in or stacking the plain on the liquid sugar grate to wait for the liquidy sugar to spill off back into the vat, or powdering the donuts with different flavors of powder. The worst part was washing the jelly bins, as I had to be careful because the spokes were very sharp and awkward to hold. I did get to wait on customers near the end and I even trained someone else all at the age of 16. I was there for about 6 months and then got an office job during my senior year of high school. That's an excellent question for your first at MyLot. Good luck.

yes, I remember. I was a cook in our local nursing home. First time in a "real work" environment, anyway. I loved the job!! (didn't like the hours--started at 4:30 am!) I had just enough interaction with the residents to have a few favorites, learned a lot about food safety to carry over into my home life, and earned enough money to buy my first car. (76 Buick Century) Loved that car!!! Toted me to a from college many years. :) Anyway, I enjoyed the people I worked with, the RN's, LPN's,and even the management staff. (Friends of my parents.) I wouldn't trade that experience for anything.
Thanks for making me remember some "good 'ole days" :)

Yes, I still remember my first job. I am sort of still in the same company. I worked there for a number of years and then it went into liquidation. Some of the workers including myself got together and bought the company and it has now been going strong for 25 years. I always wanted to be an engineer and that is what I am still doing to-day.
