in an interview given to sify rahman said he was working to create music that strikes a chord with the western audiences so that indian film music cud one day win an oscar award. three of rahman's compostions were shortlisted for an academy award this year, but none of them eventually made way to the final list of BEst original song category. rahman blames this on the failure to create music that western audiences cud identify with. though happy with his songs just neing shortlisted rahman said indian film music is not gud enuff to catch the westrn ear.
