Vacation planning for a lot of people

I want to plan a vacation for about 20-25 of my friends. The general idea is to pick a place, like Huntington Beach, find a vacation rental home and we spend a week/weekend doing activities around the area. What do you think is the best way of going about this? *things that might be hard will be collecting money, deciding what activities, etc.* If any of you have any experience doing something like this, what are your tips for making this an easy experience?
