Why do Cubans have so many old model American cars ?

Well, dear, they can't get NEW American cars. The Americans slapped a trade embargo on everything after the Cuban Missile Crisis in the 60s. The Cubans have become very adept at keeping old American technology running.

Hi Barbara , thanks for your answer ! Wow , the embargo was that effective ? I thought since they only seemed to have American cars , and most of them in good condition , maybe they have a taste for vintage American automobiles 1
